Easy To Make Vanilla Brown Sugar Scrub

Homemade sugar scrubs are easy DIY ways to pamper yourself and give your skin some much-needed TLC. While store bought body scrubs can be lovely, they can be expensive and contain questionable ingredients that are not conducive to skin health. Making your own sugar scrub is a very simple process, and you may already have a lot of the ingredients in your kitchen.

Diets typically instruct us to steer clear of sugar, but you aren’t going to ingest this sugar scrub; although, it does look and smell good enough to eat. When used topically, brown sugar acts as a great natural exfoliator that doesn’t break the bank. Some people argue that sea salt is also a great inexpensive exfoliator, but the size of the grains can cause microscopic tears or aggravate cuts or scrapes. Softer than regular sugars, brown sugar helps to scrub away dead skin cells, allowing newer, healthier skin cell growth.

A lot of exfoliators can leave your skin feeling dry. Brown sugar actually absorbs moisture from the surrounding environment and deposits that moisture into your skin, helping to hydrate and condition. Additionally, brown sugar keeps the moisture locked in and guards the skin from harmful toxins.

Do you guys know what glycolic acid is? Well, brown sugar has it and it works to fight bacteria and keep your skin looking youthful. Brown sugar also helps to reduce sun-damaged skin and break down glue-bonded cells, which is conducive to healthy skin cell production.
